Dream Big Studios
Studio Policies, Terms & Conditions
Dream Big Studios is a professional audio recording facility. Client service and satisfaction are our highest priorities. The policies below exist to ensure every session is conducted professionally while providing our clients a creative, comfortable, and productive environment.
1. Deposits & Reserving Studio Time
A 50% deposit paid in advance guarantees the time slot you request. Without a deposit, a requested slot is not held — if another client requests the same time and provides a deposit, the slot will be released to them.
Deposits are accepted by credit card over the phone, Cash App, PayPal, or cash.
2. Rates & Billing
Sessions are booked at the rates published by the studio, which are subject to change, unless alternative rates have been agreed in writing.
- Minimum booking: two (2) hours
- Time is billed in quarter-hour increments
- Sessions running beyond the scheduled end time are billed at the published rate, subject to room availability
- Lockout sessions are based on twelve (12) hour days; additional time is billed at the standard hourly rate
3. Session Start & End Times
The session clock begins at the start time agreed upon by both parties.
If you arrive early and the studio is able to accommodate an early start, the clock begins at that time. If you arrive late for any reason, billing begins at the originally scheduled start time, without exception. Please call ahead if you expect to be delayed.
Setup time is billed at regular studio rates unless otherwise agreed in writing. Setup includes load-in, instrument setup, microphone placement, level setting, and media transfer.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time forfeit the deposit. Where the studio is able to rebook any portion of the released time, the corresponding portion of the deposit will be refunded.
5. Studio Tours
New clients are encouraged to tour the studio before their first session. A tour is an opportunity to discuss the scope of your project, plan your session time realistically, and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
6. Payment
The client is responsible for all monies due to the studio. Payment is accepted in cash, by credit card, or through an approved money-sending service.
No session media will be released until payment for that day is made in full. A $25.00 service fee applies if the client’s account is not settled in full by the completion of each session.
7. Session Media & File Delivery
Session media is released only upon receipt of full payment for the session.
Please allow sufficient time within your purchased studio time for the engineer to export and save stems, MP3s, and WAV files. Files requested outside of booked session time are subject to a $25.00 recovery and processing fee.
Once session media has been delivered to the client, Dream Big Studios is no longer responsible for maintaining a backup copy.
8. Mixing & Mastering
Turnaround. Standard turnaround is one (1) week from the date all necessary files and information are received.
Revisions. Three (3) revisions are included. Revisions must be requested within one (1) week of receiving the initial mix. Additional revisions are billed at an additional fee.
Payment. Full payment is required before delivery of the final mastered track.
Delivery. Final masters are delivered in high-quality WAV and MP3 formats by email or a preferred file transfer service.
Ownership. All rights to the final mixed and mastered track are retained by the client upon full payment.
9. Studio Downtime & Limitation of Liability
Unforeseen technical problems can occur. Where session downtime results from a fault in studio equipment, that time will not be billed.
The studio’s liability is limited strictly to the studio time of the booked session. The client agrees to hold Dream Big Studios harmless from any further damages arising from such downtime.
10. Equipment & Facility Damage
Should any equipment owned by Dream Big Studios, or any part of its facility, be damaged by the client or any member of the client’s party — whether through negligence, accident, or willful act — the client agrees to provide monetary compensation equal to the full replacement value of the damaged item.
Damage of any kind resulting from anyone in the client’s party will be assessed to the client’s account.
11. Studio Rules
- No smoking inside the studio. Smoking is permitted 20 feet from the building.
- Food and drink are welcome but must be kept away from equipment.
- Please place trash in the receptacles provided.
- No firearms are permitted on the premises.
- Only individuals essential to the recording should be present during booked time.
- Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. Dream Big Studios reserves the right to refuse service or end a session if a client appears to be under the influence.
12. Client Responsibility
The person paying for studio time must sign this agreement and is responsible for the conduct of all artists and guests they bring to any session. These rules apply to all persons present, without exception. This protects both the client’s creative work and the studio’s ability to serve every artist who books with us.
13. Ownership, Rights & Indemnification
The client affirms that they are the rightful owner or assignee of all material to be recorded or reproduced.
Dream Big Studios and its employees are not responsible for copyright violations, talent or creative royalties, mechanical reproduction licenses, or any other liabilities arising from such material.
The client agrees to indemnify Dream Big Studios and its employees against any claims, costs, losses, detriments, and expenses of any kind — including, without limitation, attorney’s fees and costs incurred by Dream Big Studios — arising from any breach or alleged breach of any representation, warranty, or agreement made by the client.
Agreement
Before any session work begins, the client agrees to furnish a signed copy of these Studio Policies as a formal agreement and obligation to make payment and adhere to all policy requirements stated herein.
